Property Description

The House

Number Ten is a beautiful house, ideally located in the heart of Old Hunstanton, just five minutes walk to the beach or to the pub and close to the famous golf club. It has been recently restyled to create a wonderfully chic four bedroom home, with a fabulous open plan living space, a bedroom and shower room downstairs and three further bedrooms upstairs. The plot extends to 0.3 acre (STMS) in total with a large garden stretching out to the rear of the house with a raised deck, BBQ area, stunning Summer House and lawn.

On entering the house you are immediately struck by the open plan living area, the clever use of space means the sitting room, dining and kitchen areas are all separate and yet flow together in this large space. The whole room looks out to the lovely garden beyond with access out from the dining area. The sitting room has large comfy sofas with space for a large dining table. The spacious modern kitchen has it's own breakfast bar, a fantastic range oven with a six ring gas hob, American style fridge freezer (with ice and water dispenser), dishwasher and the large utility room houses the washing machine and tumble dryer. Also downstairs is a charming king size bedroom and adjacent to this a shower room with wonderful large walk-in shower.

Upstairs there are three further bedrooms arranged off the landing. The principal bedroom has a super king size bed and looks out over the garden to the sea beyond. Across the hallway is another bedroom with a super king size bed, sofa and wardrobes. The final bedroom is a single room. The family bathroom is shared by the bedrooms upstairs and has a bath with shower over and even a low level 'tots' toilet next to its grown up accomplice.

Outside

To the front there is an off street gravelled parking area up to three vehicles and a large garage, currently used for additional storage.

The rear garden at Number Ten is undoubtedly one of its outstanding features. There is a raised terrace immediately outside the main living space with steps leading down to the grass, where there is a paved BBQ patio area, perfect for a large table and chairs for al fresco dining.

There is currently a ground level trampoline, wooden swing and slide set and even a football net to keep all the younger generation happy.

At the bottom of the garden is the stunning Summer House, a grown up space, fully insulted with electricity, heating and wired internet. A wonderful retreat with space for sofa and desk to work in a quiet space if needed.

The Location

Old Hunstanton is just a couple of miles from Hunstanton proper, with charming beach huts tucked in the sandy dunes. It has an ‘old fashioned’ air to it, with many attractive cottages and an 18th century lighthouse which you can hire as a holiday home.

There’s an excellent golf club and the beach is popular with sun seekers and kite surfers alike, who are amazing to watch as they can reach speeds of up to 20mph. The Lodge Hotel is an attractive venue for all ages, is dog friendly, and does great pizza, while the equally dog friendly Old Town Beach Café is everything you’d hope for, with strong mugs of tea and large cakes.

The Neptune restaurant (and it has four rooms) is a real treat. It’s been run by Kevin and Jacki Mangeolles since 2007 and they’ve had a Michelin Star since 2009 – what an achievement! Expect locally landed lobster, fish, plus Norfolk pork and plenty of game.

The village also has a couple of other hotels, plus a shop and an arts centre with a gallery.

Number Ten is situated in the heart of the village but on a quiet residential road. You can see over to the coastline from the upstairs bedroom and the beach and all the amenities are just 5 mins walk away. It is also only a half an hour drive to Kings Lynn, with fast direct trains to London Kings Cross and under an hour to Cambridge.
